Popular Yarns to Crochet With
Want to read about other yarns you can work with? We have many yarn reviews about the hottest yarns you'll love using! From worsted weight yarn, to lightweight yarn and even unique yarn you didn't even know existed, we've probably reviewed it!
Red Heart Cutie Pie Yarn - Soft to the touch and light in weight, this chenille yarn is great for all types of accessories and garments. Each skein is 100% Polyester and weighs 3.5 ounces, with each skein running 326 yards.
Bernat Softee Baby Chunky Yarn - Softee Baby Chunky is 100% acrylic and soft to the touch. Because it's a bulky weight yarn, it's easy to work with and works up quickly. The size of the skein varies depending if it's a solid or a variegated; solids are 5 oz and variegated are 4.25 oz.
Lion Brand Modern Baby Yarn - The yarn is so soft that it reminds me of cashmere. What's even greater about it is that it doesn't itch and it's non-allergenic which is great for babies and toddlers. This lightweight yarn comes in an array of colors with primary tones, rich pastels and even neutral tones for the more classic look.
Lion Brand Ice Cream Yarn - The colorways of Ice Cream yarn are really neat to watch as your piece works up; you never know what kind of pattern will come out of it, which is why it's so exciting! Each strand simply falls off the skein, making it nice and easy to work with.
Red Heart Cordial Yarn - This is a similar yarn to macrame as it's a braided cord great for making crochet jewelry. Cordial is a 100% polyester bulky weight yarn that comes in seven fun colors. This isn't your typical yarn, but that's why we love it so much.
Bernat Mega Bulky Yarn - Bernat Mega Bulky yarn is 100% acrylic and each ball contains 64 yards of yarn. This is my all-time favorite yarn because it's so bulky and works up quickly. It truly is the perfect yarn to make a crochet blanket or afghan; it'll keep you toasty and warm during those cold winter months.
Lion Brand Zaps Yarn - Add a touch of color to your next crochet afghan with Zaps yarn. A solid colored yarn is mixed with a strand of bright, coloring changing yarn giving you a unique skein. Each skein can include anywhere from three to five colors, so your projects can be bold and beautiful.
Lion Brand Pelt Yarn - Faux fur is a great way to add a little something different to your crochet patterns. Having a blanket made with Pelt yarn, or simply embellished with it, will give it a whole different look. What's great about this particular faux fur yarn is that it combines matte and shiny fibers to create a truly authentic looking product.
Bernat Super Value Yarn - Bernat Super Value yarn is the quintessential yarn when it comes to crocheting. It's easy to work with, easy to care for, and comes in basically every color imaginable including solids, ombres, and heathers. This yarn is 100% acrylic and is long-standing, so your project will last for many years to come.
Lion Brand Heartland Yarn - This fabulous yarn comes in solids and tweeds, and with over 30 colors to choose from you're sure to find the perfect combination. A worsted weight yarn like this is soft and cozy and will be amazing wrapped around you.
Red Heart Super Saver Yarn - Red Heart Super Saver is America's favorite yarn. There are over 100 colors to choose from in solids and variegated, so it's no wonder we all love it. Super Saver has no dye lots, so you're guaranteed to get matching yarn every time you shop for more.
Red Heart Soft Yarn - This is my newest favorite yarn line from Red Heart. It is super soft to the touch and all you want to do is wrap yourself in it. It's 100% acrylic and will air dry in no time at all. This yarn offers great texture and shine and will make any project look amazing.
Brown Sheep Lanaloft Yarn - We love this yarn because it is 100% grown in the U.S. Available in three different weights, this yarn also comes in a variety of colors with 16 monochromatic hues, 8 heathered tones, 29 solid colors, and 12 hand-painted color ways. You'll love the feel of this yarn as you're working with it.
Cascade Superwash Wool Yarn - Wool yarns can be itchy and uncomfortable to wear and work with, but this blend is nice and soft. With a large variety of colors to work with, this yarn will quickly become a new favorite. What's great about this yarn is that it doesn't pill like most, so your projects will last.
Caron United Yarn - Caron United supports America's troops, so every time you buy a skein 15¢ is donated to the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation. This foundation provides college scholarships to children of military families that have lost one or both parents in their line of duty.
Darn Good Yarn Velvet Nights Yarn - Darn Good Yarn is on a mission to create a job market for highly impoverished women so they can become independent. When you buy a skein, your purchase directly supports these women, and I'll tell you, the yarn that's offered is certainly one of a kind and comes in a variety of recycled yarn products from India.
Mrs. Crosby Hand Dyed Yarn - Upgrade your crochet with some luxurious yarns from Mrs. Crosby. Choose from five different yarn options including Train Case, Satchel, Hat Box, Carpet Bag, and Steamer Trunk; all are available in some of the prettiest colors you've ever seen.
Ancient Arts Fibre Crafts Woof Yarn Collection - The beautiful color choices of the Woof Collection are inspired by our four legged friends. Three different yarn weights and 10 colors to choose from, all you to work with a fantastic blend of hand-dyed fibers.
