Crochet Blanket Patterns by Yarn Weight

Do you have a favorite brand of yarn? Perhaps you prefer one yarn weight over another. We would usually say "whatever is softest on the skin," but there are so many soft yarn weights to choose from. You can find patterns with your favorite weight with these Crochet Blanket Patterns by Yarn Weight. We've got patterns that use worsted weight yarn, light weight and DK yarn, as well as bulky and even super bulky yarn.

Worsted Weight Yarn Crochet Blanket Patterns

Most crochet blanket patterns use worsted weight or medium weight yarn. The label for this yarn is "4" when you look at yarn either at the store or online. There are so many patterns to choose from for this yarn weight!

Light Weight and DK Yarn Crochet Blanket Patterns

Light weight or DK (double knit) yarn is very popular for baby blanket crochet patterns. The lightness and softness of the yarn weight really makes baby happy. Light weight/DK yarn says "3" on the yarn label.

Bulky Yarn Crochet Blanket Patterns

Bulky yarn is a cold-weather favorite to be sure. It'll keep you warm no matter what you make out of it! and it'll make any big project go a lot faster! Bulky yarn will say "5" on the label.

Super Bulky Yarn Crochet Blanket Patterns

Super bulky yarn will make any project, especially blankets, quick to work up. Plus, it makes those afghans super cozy and soft. Super bulky yarn is marked with a "6" on the label.

What a great idea to split these by weight. So helpful when I have lots of one kind and don't know what patterns use it!

This is another beautiful blanket that can be proudly displayed on a white sofa in the living room. A combination of gray and deep blue, this Crochet Blanket Patterns by Yarn Weight used a stitch that is a bit complicated to make. the blue edging is a wise choice as it added drama to a rather drab piece of blanket. I can imagine a gray dress with deep blue edging. So classy!
