Shell Stitch Variation Afghan

Create a cornucopia of colors and stitches with the Shell Stitch Variation Afghan. This crochet blanket will brighten up any room, and would look especially good in a kid's bedroom or college student's dorm room. You can follow a crochet tutorial to get the hang of the patterns used in this blanket with the Shell Stitch Variation Squares or you can make the whole afghan in one piece. Crochet Hook: H/8 or 5 mm hook

Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

  • RED HEART Classic:  3 skeins each 0737 Pink, 0579 Light Lavender, 0261 Maize, 0246 Sea Coral; 2 skeins 0951 Topical Fruit
  • RED HEART Super Saver: 1 skein 0668 Honeydew
  • Crochet Hook:  5.0 mm (US H-8) crochet hook or size needed for gauge

Row 2: [Shell in ch 1 space of Shell, dc in single dc,] across ending dc in last dc, ch 3 and turn.

Row 3: Repeat Row 2.

Row 4: Repeat Row 2 and fasten off.

Row 5 (RS): Join light lavender in first stitch, ch 2, 3 dc in each ch 1 space of Shell and each single dc across, dc in last dc, ch 3 and turn.
