I love double crochets because they are not too wide. I have finished a capelet using half double crochet and I love it. There's only a few strokes to do it. I'm doing a poncho now half double and double crochets. It's lovely!

I have always loved the half double crochet stitch. It's pretty, it adds height and it's so easy. I call it my wrap and go stitch. Meaning I wrap once not twice like in a double. I have made a lot of pretty things using just this stitch. I make one row doing a hdc in the front loop and then a row doing it in the back. It makes a very pretty pattern. Try it.
