I made this blanket as a wedding gift. I made 12 squares instead of 9 as I wanted the blanket to be larger. I also used three colors. I was extremely pleased with the end result.

What beautiful lacy work! The Royal Wedding Crochet Blanket is exquisite. I love the elegant flower petals and the monochromatic color scheme. The diagrams and abbreviations should prove very helpful on this intermediate level pattern. This will be the perfect addition to my all white room. Hand crafting this one will be a pleasure!

The best way to explain the borders is that you are not connecting the "squares", you are connecting one square with the BORDER of the other square. When you make a "join", you are dropping your stitch and reconnecting through the open space in the border. All those chains you made in the first border are actually the center between two squares. Hope this helps

I have the squares finished, but am confused on the border patter. Did the first step, no issue, but does step three go the another square? This is where I am getting lost. Any kind of clarification I can find?

I have made this Royal Wedding Crochet Blanket 7 times using different colors and it is stunning no matter if you have main light and border dark or the opposite. Thank you so much for this amazing pattern, it will be my go-to for all future wedding gift!

This is another blanket I would like to make if only for its color combination. I just love everything brown and everything with brown. So this Royal Wedding Crochet Blanket is in my queue of projects. I just hope I will have the energy to finish the project to the end especially when it's time to connect the squares.

written pattern diagram are not the same. please correct update

I feel like it would look even better if it was all one color. I love the antique look it has to it!
