Pattern
With A ch 6; join with a slip st to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 6 (beginning ch counts as dc, ch 3), [dc, ch 3] 5 times in ring; join with a slip st to 3rd ch of ch 6—6 dc and 6 ch 3 spaces.
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in joining, [ch 3, 3 dc in next dc] 5 times, ch 3; join to top of ch 3—6 hearts started.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc] 5 times, ch 3; join as before—5 dc across each heart.
Round 4: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc] 5 times, ch 3; join—7 dc across each heart.
Round 5: Ch 3, dc in joining, dc in each dc across heart to last dc, 2 dc in next dc, [ch 3, 2 dc in next dc, dc in each dc across heart to last dc, 2 dc in last dc] 5 times, ch 3; join—9 dc across each heart.
Round 6: Work same as Round 5 except work “ch 4” instead of “ch 3”—11 dc across each heart.
Round 7: Repeat Round 6—13 dc across each heart.
Rounds 8-10: Work same as Round 5 except work “ch 5” instead of “ch 3”—19 dc across each heart at end of Round 10.
Round 11: Ch 3, dc in joining, * dc in next 8 dc, ch 2, skip next dc, dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 5 **, 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around, end at **; join—hearts divided.
Round 12: Ch 3, skip joining, dc in next 8 dc, * ch 3, skip next dc, 3 dc in next space, ch 3, skip next dc, dc in next 9 dc, ch 3, 3 dc in next space, ch 3 **, dc in next 9 dc; repeat from * around, end at **; join.

No wonder it's called a doily blanket because it looks like a huge doily. This Delicate Doily Christening Blanket is so beautiful, any mommy will like to have one for her baby's big day. It is very common to see cotton or terry blankets used in the christening but this one is really one conversation piece. It will be the talk of the occasion and some of the mothers present will actually ask where that beautiful doily blanket came from. I will make this soon, ahead of the queue.
