INSTRUCTIONS
Notes:
1. Throw is made in a ripple pattern which consists, in some rows, of a series of (shell, ch 2, shell) “peaks” and 2-cluster “valleys”, with a shell worked between peaks and valleys. You may need to work several rows before the ripple is clearly visible.
2. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Cut old color. Optional: carry A along wrong side of piece until next needed.
3. For a neater appearance, work border over carried yarn and tails to minimize weaving in ends.

Beg dc2tog (beginning double crochet decrease) = Ch 2, dc in next stitch.
Cl (cluster) = Yarn over, insert hook in indicated stitch or space, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook); [yarn over, insert hook in same stitch or space, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over, draw through 2 loops] twice, yarn over, draw through all 4 loops on hook.

I typical do not crochet holiday themed patterns because it seems like a lot of work to only have it out for a few weeks of the year. However, I think this pattern would be super cute substituting different colors for the red and gray. And then I could keep it on my couch year round.
