We can't help but bow down to the genius of the Duchess of Cambridge Crochet Blanket. This crochet pattern will keep any member of your royal family warm in the cold of winter. We're sure Kate Middleton, the duchess herself, would approve of this lovely throw and its almost lacy pattern.

Why AllFreeCrochetAfghanPatterns Loves This Pattern:

Our favorite part of this crochet blanket is the delicate stitch pattern that's on full display. The Duchess Lace Stitch, used throughout this afghan, is an elegant name for a stitch that features interlocking shells worked in a criss-cross diamond pattern.

The result is a diamond lace motif that, when paired with the classic rose and off-white shades of this crochet blanket, looks as regal as it does soft to the touch.

For anyone who might be intimidated by the thought of a lace motif, don't be! This one uses double crochets, slip knots and chains, so it's quick and easy to master.

When I think of lace, this is not the image that comes to mind. I did visit and view the video. Thanks for the link. The technique seems easy enough and I really enjoy learning new stitches. This is a new one for me and I am interested in making it so I did save the link. Also appreciate that the designer elected to use chunky/bulky yarn. That always speeds up the completion time.

Very nice. I like to find patterns that use techniques that are new to me. This is the first time I have heard of the Duchess Lace. I also like the choice of the bulky yarn. I have just the person I want to make this for and I am thinking about using her three favorite colors, white, pink and brown. Thanks for the pattern.

A beautiful blanket in the crochet stitch called Duchess Lace, uses nice chunky yarn, which will help it grow quickly. What I like about it is its lacy look. There is a written pattern as well as a tutorial to help the user master this stitch. I think I would like to add a little lace edging to both ends to make it look a little bit lacier.

This is another pattern that is easier than it looks. Works up really quickly once you get first few rows done to establish pattern. Used cream and pale pink in Bernat Baby Yarn and it came out beautiful!

Wow I just love the look of this Duchess of Cambridge Crochet Blanket. The colors are great and the pattern is so well written I think anyone can follow it as long as they know the stitches. I think I would do a few of these for the cold weather months coming in one color and one with the colors in the pattern. Thank you for this beautiful free pattern.

This is the Kate Middleton afghan because the stitches used are the duchess stitch all throughout. I have pinned and saved this pattern which says intermediate level of difficulty. Here is the link to the pattern for your easy reference http//www.leeleeknits.com/free-chunky-crochet-thro == w-pattern/.

i WOULD ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO HAVE THE PATTERN FOR THE LONG SWEATER AND CAP, PLEASE.

I love the colors of this throw, perfect for spring! I was just looking for my next bulky crochet project, looks like I've found it.
