A child's baptism is an important milestone in many families. This Lacy Christening Blanket is a wonderful way to welcome a baby into your faith community. Some crochet christening blanket patterns require a bunch of frills and embellishments, but sometimes a simple approach is best. This beautiful pattern lets the stitching shine. The baby will be so warm and comfy in this christening blanket that she might not even notice the water being splashed on her head. This baby afghan is a gorgeous keepsake.

What a beautiful blanket with an intricate pattern. This will be an heirloom. This would be excellent for a christening or church dedication. It would also be pretty for the parents to wrap baby in for a special holiday visit or the first presentation to special family members or friends. It's sure to be soft too. Where it is lined with cloth the baby's name, birthday or special occasion date can be embroidered on the reverse side of the yarn. It would be a lovely gift from a grandparent or godparent. Would you reuse the blanket for the baby or put it away to share with siblings or generations to come?
