This is a really cute design for a baby blanket.

I am not fond of the directions for this blanket. I think they are confusing. Also they do not point out you just repeat Round 4 to complete the blanket. Usually squares like this start out with a loop. You do not do that here but it does work out. Just be careful you have the same number of stitches on each side. Skipping the first dc will go easily once you get into it. Each round will have an increase of three stitches on each side. I had to work it up first to see what it looked like. None of my crochet pattern books had this stitch. It is a good stitch if you don't want a lot of holes. Good for a baby.
