This Couch Cover pattern dates back to the early 1930's. This afghan is worked in crochet blocks and crochet squares in various styles to create this geometric look. Vintage crochet afghan patterns are fun to try because you can put your own spin on this classic pattern and make it new again.

There is a great chert on for discontinued yarns. this pattern calls for BEAR BRAND or BUCILLA 4-fold Zephyr Germantown yarn which is a Fingering/sport weight yarn back then there really were no standards even today the standards differ.

The center of each square is made of Tunisian crochet, so be sure to have a long hook. Also, a modern-day size E hook is too small for worsted wt yarn, so I think that either the hook size is incorrect or that the yarn is 4-ply but not worsted weight.
