Afghan
Small Granny Square
(Make 52)
With B, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), *3 dc in ring, ch 1; rep from * 2 more times, 2 dc in ring, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4 to join. Fasten off B.
Rnd 2: Join A with a sl st in any ch-1 sp, ch 3 (counts as dc), (2 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in same ch-1 sp, ch 1, *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; rep from * 2 more times; sl st in top of beg ch 3 to join. Fasten off A.
Rnd 3: Join C with a sl st in any corner ch-1 sp, ch 3(counts as dc), (2 dc, ch1, 3 dc) in same ch-1 sp, ch 1, [3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch1, (3 dc, ch1, 3 dc) in next ch-1 sp, ch1] 3 times, 3 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, join with sl st to top of ch 3. Fasten off C.

Large Granny Square (Make 12)
With C, ch 4, join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), *3 dc in ring, ch 1; rep from * 2 more times, 2 dc in ring, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch-4 to join.

Finishing
Using A and tapestry needle, sew 4 Small Granny Squares together to form one 10” square. Make a total of 13 squares. Arrange squares in a checkerboard, alternating 10” Squares with Large Granny Squares, using photo as a guide. First sew into 5 strips, then sew the strips together, taking care to be sure that adjacent squares are not the same.
Weave in ends.

Shell Border
Rnd 1: Join A with a sl st in any corner, ch 1, sc around edge of Afghan, working 3 sc in each corner; sl st in first sc to join making sure to end with a multiple of 4 stitches + 1.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, sc in next sc, *sk 1 st, 4 dc in next st, sk 1 sc, sc in next sc; rep from * to end, join with a sl st in beg ch 1.
Weave in ends.

This is so pretty and it's also so easy to make. I am going to make it into a tree skirt. I can just wrap it around the base of the tree. It will be perfect. I have yarn with glitter in it in all the colors. It is going to be a very special Christmas.
