Kids get to have all of the fun. As an adult, I could appreciate this to have to use when I watch TV. Now because the directions for adults was not provided in this post I guess I will have to find a mermaid blanket for adult use so that I will not have to try to figure out how to increase this for an adult.

I love this blanket idea. I researched to determine that the blue/green version is the yarn color Surf Varg. I would really love to know the color name of the picture in the peach/yellow. Would anyone be able to answer that?

I've made one mermaid blanket in dark teal using a different pattern and my granddaughter is crazy over it. In case I start another mermaid blanket project, I'd like to use this pattern because of the tail, it's very well attached to the body of the blanket. I love it. I'd like to do this in a more vibrant color though. Thanks for the pattern. Cheers!

This is a super quick mermaid blanket pattern. There are plenty of them out there, but this is one of the simplest ones. it will come in handy for this holiday season, as I'm sure we all know someone who wants one of these this year! It would look great in a variegated or a solid yarn.

Love this pattern for the Make a Splash Mermaid Blanket! My Grand daughters (all 5 of them) have been asking for this for Christmas. The patterns I had found took way to much yarn and done in a different stitch so I said maybe next year. Well thank you for sharing this pattern, because I can afford this one. Looks like I have a lot of work ahead of me to get 5 of these done before Christmas.. This pattern is very well written and so easy to follow I'll have them done in no time! Again thank you so much for sharing this free crochet pattern.

These mermaid blankets are so popular right now, and I can see why. My sister asked me to maker her one, so I guess this is next on the list.
