94 Popular Crochet Afghan Patterns from October

Last month, we featured crochet afghan patterns of all shapes, sizes and types in our newsletters. Readers responded to everything from afghans to throws. Also, easy patterns were just as popular as advanced projects - everyone was satisfied!

Ripple patterns are a popular type of project because they are instantly recognizable and generally easy to make. In addition to ripple patterns, we found that baby blankets continued to reign supreme. This type of project sticks out because it's so versatile - you can make a cute and cuddly baby blanket, a solid colored baby blanket or anything in between. No matter what, you're sure to find a pattern that will become a keepsake and an heirloom. What's not love about that?

Another trend we noticed over the last month was an interest in warm, cozy afghans. These types of patterns use chunky yarn for added warmth. Who doesn't love curling up under a warm throw on a cold day? This is a great gift idea for the upcoming holiday season. Imagine curling up by the fire with a brand new, homemade chunky afghan pattern. Practical patterns like these will never go out of style.

Beginners had a chance to practice their skills with a variety of baby blankets, throws and ripple patterns. These quick and easy patterns were a perfect way to sharpen skills and try new stitches.
