Size 4 mm (U.S. G or 6) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.

Skill Level: Easy

GAUGE: 16 sc and 19 rows = 4" [10 cm]

MEASUREMENTS: Approx 28" x 36" [71 x 91.5 cm].

2nd row: Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *5 dc in next ch-2 sp. Drop loop from hook. Insert hook from front to back in 1st dc of 5 dc group. Pull dropped loop through. Ch 1 – popcorn made. 1 dc in each of next 5 dc. 2 dc in next ch-2 sp. 1 dc in each of next 5 dc. Popcorn. 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * 5 times more. Turn.

Rep 2nd to 7th rows 11 times more. Fasten off.

 

Tassels (make 4).
Wind yarn around 4" [10 cm] wide cardboard 50 times. Cut yarn, leaving a long end and thread through a needle. Slip through all loops and tie tightly. Remove from cardboard and wind yarn around loops tightly, approx 1" [2.5 cm] below fold. Fasten securely. Cut through rem loops and trim ends evenly. Sew 1 tassel at each corner of Blanket.

Wow. This is a great addition to my collection of baby blankets. I will definitely have a reason to make this blanket especially when I start making baby blankets for donation to our local hospital. It helps very much that the pattern is just in front of the page.
