Fruit Salad Crochet Baby Blanket Pattern

- Caron Simply Soft: 1 ball of each: Contrast A, Contras B: Strawberry (0015); Contrast C: Melon (0016); Contrast D, Contrast E: Pistachio (0003); Contrast F, Contrast G: Blackberry (0005)
- Yarn needle
Size: Approx .33"/84cm wide x 41"/104cm long, including edging
Gauge: One square measures 8 x 8"/20.5 x 20.5cm. Gauge is not critical for this project
Instructions:
SPECIAL TERM
Popcorn: 4 dc in indicated stitch, drop loop from hook, insert hook from front to back in first of the 4 dc just made, draw dropped loop through stitch, ch 1 (to close popcorn).
SQUARE (make 20 – 2 with A and 3 each with B, C, D, E, F, and G)
Ch 5; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), work 15 more dc in ring; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—16 dc.
Round 2: Ch 4 (counts as first dc, ch 1), popcorn in next dc, ch 1, *dc in next dc, ch 1, popcorn in next dc, ch 1; repeat from * around; join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning ch—8 dc and 8 popcorn.
Round 3: Ch 3, (2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same st as join, ch 2, sk next popcorn, (popcorn, dc, popcorn) in next dc, ch 2, sk next popcorn, *(3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next dc (shell made), ch 2, sk next popcorn, (popcorn, dc, popcorn) in next dc, ch 2, sk next popcorn,; repeat from * around; join with sl st in top of beginning ch.

Sew squares into strips in the following colors, then sew strips together across long edges in order:
Strip #1: A, C, G, E, F
Strip #2: C, G, F, D, B
Strip #3: G, F, D, B, E
Strip #4: D, C, B, E, A
Edging
With RS facing, join E with sl st in any corner of blanket.

I love this fruit salad baby blanket which is appropriately named. The colors are like the colors of the fruit ingredients in fruit salad. Baby will surely love this and especially the mommy will love this, too. Lovely!!
