What seems more intimidating than taking on making a crochet blanket? This Corner to Corner Crochet Blanket tutorial can really ease some of that stress! While this crochet video only shows you how to make a small swatch of a blanket, it gives you all the tools you need in order to create your very own corner to corner blanket!

Plus, the video tutorial makes it extremely easy to follow along with the steps and visualize what you are supposed to do. Plus, this is a very basic crochet pattern, so you can incorporate different stitches into this pattern once you have it mastered!

Beginner

Yarn Weight(6) Super Bulky/Super Chunky (4-11 stitches for 4 inches)

Materials List

  • Crochet hook of choice
  • Yarn of choice

Corner to Corner Crochet Blanket

Corner to Corner Blanket Instructions:

  1. Chain 6.

  2. Double crochet in the fourth chain from hook.

  3. Double crochet in the remaining two chains.

  4. Chain 6 turn.

  5. Repeat Steps 2 and 3.

  6. Insert hook in chain three space and make a slip stitch.

  7. Chain 3.

  8. Crochet 3 more double crochets in the exact same spot.

  9. Chain 6 and turn.

  10. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 once again.

  11. Insert your hook into the chain 3 space and slip stitch.

  12. Repeat Steps 7 and 8.

  13. Repeat Steps 1 through 12 until you have reached the desired amount of blocks you would like your blanket to have. Then, begin your decreased blocks. 

  14. TO DECREASE:

    Turn your work.

  15. Slip stitch in each of the three double crochets. 

  16. Slip stitch in the chain three space.

  17. Chain 3. 

  18. Crochet three double crochet stitches in that same stitch.

  19. Slip stitch in the chain three space. 

  20. Three double crochets. 

  21. Slip stitch in the last chain three. 

  22. Turn the work (no chaining).

  23. Repeat Steps 15 through 22. Finish off with a chain three by joining it with a slip stitch in that chain three.

what size hook do you use

Hi winepoh, This video shows the technique of crocheting a corner to corner blanket, so the size hook you use depends on the yarn you're using for the blanket. If you're following a pattern, the hook will be specified. Otherwise, the suggested hook size for yarn will be printed on the yarn label. :) Hope that helps!
