"The mini squares in this beginner-friendly blanket work up quickly. This blanket was designed to meet the donation requirements for The Binky Patrol, a volunteer-led charity that provides comfort blankets to children in the United States facing health challenges or living with trauma.

It also makes a great stashbuster. Skills used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch Working in rounds and increasing Crocheting in chain spaces, skipping stitches."

Beginner

Crochet HookI/9 or 5.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Crochet GaugeCompleted Square = 3” (7.5 cm) in pattern. Exact gauge is not critical for this pattern.

Finished SizeAdjustable. Photographed sample measures 30” (76 cm) wide x 36” (91.5 cm) long.

Materials List

  • Lion Brand Heartland (5 oz/142 g/251 yds/230 m/100% acrylic) – 2 skeins ea in 109 Olympic (CA), 124 Big Bend (CB), and 098 Acadia (CC), or approximately 500 yds (457 m) in ea of 3 colors in any medium weight yarn.
  • US Size I-9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, or any size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Yarn needle.

At a glance, this Sandy Dunes design look like Oreos haha. But they are sandy dunes granny squares in colors similar to Oreo biscuits.

I like the blanket, it reminds of Oreo cookies, if you care for colors change them
