Instructions for BLANKET:

With MC, ch 56.

  1. 1st row: (RS). Sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Sl st in each of next 4 ch. *1 hdc in each of next 5 ch. Sl st in each of next 5 ch. Rep from * 4 times more. Turn.
    2nd row: Working in back loops only, sl st in each of next 5 sl st. *1 hdc in each of next 5 hdc. Sl st in each of next 5 sl st. Rep from * 4 times more. Turn.
    3rd row: Ch 2 (does not count as hdc). Working in back loops only, 1 hdc in each of next 5 sl st. *Sl st in each of next 5 hdc. 1 hdc in each of next 5 sl st. Rep from * 4 times more. Turn.
    4th row: Ch 2 (does not count as hdc). Working in back loops only, 1 hdc in each of next 5 hdc. *Sl st in each of next 5 st st. 1 hdc in each of next 5 hdc. Rep from * 4 times more. Turn.
    5th row: Working in back loops only, sl st in each of next 5 hdc. *1 hdc in each of next 5 sl st. Sl st in each of next 5 hdc. Rep from * 4 times more. Turn. Rep last 4 rows until work from beg measures 50" [127 cm], ending with a 2nd or 4th row. Fasten off.

Instructions for EDGING:

With RS facing, join A with sl st at top right corner of Blanket.

  1. 1st rnd: Ch 1. (1 sc. Ch 1. 1 sc) in same sp as last sl st (corner). Work 73 sc evenly across top edge. (1 sc. Ch 1. 1 sc) in next st (corner). Work 73 sc evenly down side. (1 sc. Ch 1. 1 sc) in next st (corner). Work 53 sc evenly across bottom edge. (1 sc. Ch 1. 1 sc) in next st (corner). Work 73 sc evenly up side. Join with sl st to first sc.
