Quick and Easy Crochet Baby Blanket

Instructions:
NOTE:
Entire blanket is worked holding 2 strands of yarn tog.
When changing colors, work to last 2 loops on hook of last dc. Draw new color through last 2 loops to complete stitch and proceed in new color.
Work over unused color in gingham pattern. Carry colors up side of work.

(make 3)
With 2 strands of MC, ch 23.
1st row:1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in next ch. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch. Rep from * to end of ch. Turn. 21 dc.
2nd row: With MC, ch 3 (counts as dc.) 1 dc in each of next2 dc. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Join B. Turn.
3rd row: With B, ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. With B, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
4th row: As 3rd row. Join MC.
5th row: With MC, ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each of next 2 dc. *With A, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. With MC, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc. Rep from * to end of row. Turn.
6th row: As 2nd row. Rep last 4 rows of Pat 12 times more.
Fasten off.
Strip 2
(make 2)
With 2 strands of MC, ch 23.
1st row: 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (counts as 2 dc). 1 dc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 21 dc.
2nd row: Ch 3 (counts as dc). 1 dc in each dc to end of row. Join B. Turn.
3rd and 4th rows: With B, as 2nd row. Join MC at end of 4th row.
5th and 6th rows: With MC, as 2nd row. Join B at end of 6th row.
Rep 3rd to 6th rows of Stripe Pat until 54 rows have been worked.
Fasten off.
FINISHING
Sew strips tog, as follows: 1, 2, 1, 2, 1.
EDGING
Join 2 strands of MC with sl st in top right corner. Ch 1. 3 sc in same sp as sl st. Work in sc evenly around Blanket, having 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.
Fasten off.
