Try something new and crochet the Avant-Garde Square. Sometimes granny square patterns can be boring, but this square is truly a work of art. Innovation in crochet is extremely popular and instead of boring squares, the lines in this square or "disconnected," creating an interesting design. By connecting these squares together, you can rotate them to create a maze-like afghan.

This is different not fond of pink and white, however, the disconnected lines would make a fantasic afghan in a dark on light color palate or light on dark color palate. I can almost see it using a solid with a verigated palate but not quite, I'll have to give it a try. This shall be my next indeveor.
