Lakeshore Plaid Blanket

Feel beachy with the Lakeshore Plaid Blanket. This afghan uses crochet squares in different shades of blue to create the plaid effect. The white squares make the blue squares "pop" and make dynamic crochet stripes. Each granny square is joined as you go to avoid having to sew them together later. This blanket is just light enough to be a baby blanket or it can be made into a larger afghan as well.

I have to confess I've kind of had this aversion-don't really know why-to Granny Squares for awhile that I've been trying to get past. I think I'm going to try making this pattern up in three shades of green and a white because it does look similar to a plaid to me and maybe that will help! I like the idea of joining the squares as you go so you are done when you're done and don't have more to do at the end like the usual granny square patterns.

Wow I like this plaid blanket. The color is perfect. Here's the link to the pattern http//www.allfreecrochetafghanpatterns.com/Mile-A- == Minute/Cool-Lime-Corner-Corner-Blanket

Made one of these for a Christmas present and was so easy to do even though I am only a beginner. I chose different colours to go with decor but would love to do another in these colours for myself

I need written instructions for "Lakeshore Plaid Blanket sent today 11-19-13, if possible. Could not pull them up.

Hi Pooky2, The blogger has made the pattern available on their site in the form of a chart. Please click 'Click here for crochet pattern' to access it. She also provides a link to the written instructions. Happy crocheting! - editors of AllFreeCrochet
