Same thing happened with me.

Hello - am new at crochet and am puzzled with the second row. I understand the 7DC in the front lp. This part work shell in ch-2 sp of shell, dc in front lp of next 8 dc rep from is in question. I know I have 3 DC , 2 sc and 3 DC which makes the shell and 8 DC in total, but I seem to simply be doing a DC in the front lp. What about the shell pattern?

Would like to see more detail in the photo.
