How many rows to get 4" Surely I do not make an entire Basic Square and then measure to see if it is 6.5" square????? Help plz?

This page is not allowing me to upload a photo. I made this afghan about ten years ago and it is still my favorite of all the things I have made over the years and I am very proud of it. Please look into it.

I am going to be making this one, and I can hardly wait to start! It's perfect for an old-world holiday effect. I am slightly concerned about finding the buttons, but I think it will be worth the effort.
