Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Crochet Gauge6 sts = 5”; 6 rows = 9” in pattern (4 strands held together). CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.

  • RED HEART® Super Saver®: 3 skeins each 311 White A, 316 Soft White B, 313 Aran C, and 661 Frosty Green D
  • Crochet Hook: 11.5mm [US P-16]
  • Yarn needle

Instructions:

NOTES:
Hold one strand of each of 4 colors together as one throughout.
Special Stitches: v-st (v Stitch): (double crochet, chain 1, double crochet) in indicated st or space.

Ch 60.

  1. Row 1 (Wrong Side): Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across; turn – 58 sts.
    Rows 2 and 3: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc and in each dc across, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
    Row 4: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, skip next dc; v-st in next dc; * skip next 2 dc, v-st in next dc; repeat from * to last 3 sts; skip next dc, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
    Rows 5 and 6: Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next dc, skip next dc, v-st in next ch-1 sp, * skip next 2 dc, v-st in next ch-1 sp; repeat from * to last 3 sts; skip next dc, dc in next dc, dc in top of ch-3; turn.
    Row 7:  Ch 3, skip first dc, dc in next 2 dc, * dc in next ch-1 sp, dc in next 2 dc; repeat from * to last st; dc in top of ch- 3; turn.
    Repeat Rows 2-7 five times, repeat Rows 2 and 3 again. Turn and, with right side facing, work 1 round sc evenly around entire outer edge, taking care to keep work flat; join with a slip st to first sc. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
