Did You Know?
The ripple stitch is so popular that it has more than one name? It is also known as the chevron stitch and afghan stitch. For many beginners, it is the first stitch they learn because it is easy to do and can be used in single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet.

It is still a favorite today because of the fun pattern and texture it creates! And the best part about ripple stitch blankets is that you have no joining to worry about, unlike the granny square.

The History of Spider-Man: Get to know the character behind this round ripple afghan!

Stan Lee and Steve Ditko are the Marvel men we can thank for Spider-Man's genesis. Comic book fans first met Peter Parker in 1962 in the last issue of Amazing Fantasy, which only let the tale appear because the series was about to be canceled. Spider-Man turned out to be a hit in his red and blue costume, and the rest is history, as he got his very own comic.

Peter Parker was among the first teenagers to break out of their stereotypical helper roles as sidekicks, and he got to be the star of his own story. Spider-Man has been one of the most popular superheroes of all time and has been the subject of not only comics, but Broadway musicals, amusement park theme rides, television shows, and movies. Stan Lee famously enjoys acting as a cameo in the different interpretations of his creation. Spider-Man's story has even intersected with other superheroes, from the Fantastic Four to X-Men. Although everyone was initially hesitant to publish a story about a creepy-crawly, thank goodness they did!
