Crochet HookG/6 or 4 mm hook

Yarn Weight(4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:                                       

  • RED HEART Classic: 7 skeins 0579 Light Lavender
  • Crochet Hook: 4.5mm (US G-6) or size needed for gauge

GAUGE:  Rows 2-5 – 2 ¾”
                5 dcs, sc – 2 ¼”

Throw measures: 44” x 53”

 

Instructions:

Special Stitch: V Stitch (V St) – (dc, ch 1, dc) in stitch or space as indicated.

Note:  Throw is worked in multiples of 8 plus 2.
                          

Row 1(RS): Ch 138, sc in 2nd ch from hook,  *ch 2, skip 2 chs, dc in next ch, 3 dcs in next ch, dc in next ch, ch 2, skip 2 chs, sc in next ch, repeat from * across, turn.

Row 2 : Ch 4, *dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, V St in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, ch 2, repeat from * across ending last repeat with ch 1 (instead of ch 2), dc in last sc, turn.

Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dcs in ch 1 space, ch 2, *sc in ch 1 space of V St, ch 2, 5 dcs in ch 2 space, ch 2, repeat from * across ending last repeat with sc in next ch 1 space, ch 2, 2 dcs in ch 4 space, dc in 3rd ch of ch 4 space, turn.

Row 4: Ch 3, dc in turning ch, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, *ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, V st in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, dc in next dc, repeat from * across ending last repeat with ch 2, dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next dc, 2 dcs in top of turning ch, turn.

Row 5: Ch 1, sc in turning ch, *ch 2, 5 dcs in ch 2 space, ch 2, sc in ch 1 space of V St, repeat form * across to last ch 2 space, ch 2, 5 dc in last ch 2 space, ch 2, sc in top of turning ch, turn.

Repeating Rows 2 – 5 work pattern for a total of 69 rows, turn after last row.

 

EDGING

Round 1 (WS): Work along top edge ch 4, [(dc, ch 1) twice, dc] in same stitch, *ch 3, sc in center dc of 5 dcs, ch 3, V St in next sc, repeat from * across ending ch 3, [(dc, ch 1) 3 times, dc] in last sc.

Work along side edge* ch 2, sc in dc space, ch 2, V St in next dc space, repeat from * across ending ch 2.

Work along bottom edge [(dc, ch 1,) 3 times, dc] in first bottom edge stitch, *ch 3, sc in center ch of 5 dcs, ch 3, V St in ch below sc, repeat from * across ending ch 3, [(dc, ch 1) 3 times, dc] in last sc.

Work along side edge *ch 2, sc in dc space, ch 2, V St in next dc space, repeat from * across ending ch 2, join to 3rd ch of beginning ch 4, fasten off and turn.


Round 2 (RS): Work along top edge [(2 dcs, ch 1) twice, 2 dcs) in center ch 1 space of right corner stitches, *ch 2, sc in next sc, ch 2, [(2 dcs, ch 1) twice, 2 dcs] in ch 1 space of V St, repeat from * across ending ch 2, [(2 dcs, ch 1) twice, 2 dcs] in center ch 1 space of corner stitches.
