Coming Up Roses Square

Coming Up Roses Square

"I was inspired to design this square by childhood memories from summers spent at my maternal grandmother’s house. Pink roses used to grow on the fence between her back yard and her neighbors’s yard. I think the roses actually belonged to the neighbors, but sharing didn’t seem to be a problem. This center of this square is a variation on the Irish Rose motif. The last round is perfect for the join-as-you-go method of joining crochet squares. Skills Used Basic crochet stitches: chain, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet, slip stitch, treble (triple) crochet Working in rounds, increasing, skipping stitches, joining new colors, crocheting in chain spaces Crocheting in the back loop Skill Level Easy Finished Size 6” (15 cm) square.
