Crochet Hook: I/9 or 5.5 mm hook

Yarn Weight: (4) Medium Weight/Worsted Weight and Aran (16-20 stitches to 4 inches)

Materials:

  • Patons Canadiana (100 g/3.5 oz) or Patons Décor (100 g/3.5 oz):
    • Peach (MC, 3 balls)
    • Aran (A, 3 balls)
    • Green (B, 4 balls)
  • Crochet hook: Sizes 5.5 mm (U.S. I or 9) crochet hook or size needed to obtain tension.

 

Size: Finished Size: Approx 54 x 64 ins [137 x 162.5 cm]

 

Gauge: 1 strip = 4½x 64 ins [11.5 x162.5 cm].

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

STRIP (Make 12):

With MC, ch 172.

1st rnd: 5 dc in 4th ch from hook- shell made. *Miss next 3 ch. (1 dc. Ch 1. 1 dc) all in next ch-V st made. Miss next 3 ch. 1 shell in next ch. Rep from * to last 8 ch. Miss next 3 ch. V-st in next ch. Miss next 3 ch. 11 dc in last ch. Working into opposite side of ch, miss next 3 ch. V-st into ch under V-st on opposite side of ch. ***Miss next 3 ch. 1 shell in ch under next shell. Miss next 3 ch.V-st in ch under next V-st. Rep from *** across ending with: miss next 3 ch. 1 shell in ch under last shell. With A, sl st to top of ch 3.

2nd rnd: Ch 3. 3 dc in next st. Miss next st. V-st in next st. *Miss next 3 sts. 1 shell in ch-1 sp of next V-st. Miss next 3 sts. V-st in next st (center of shell).* Rep from* to * to end of strip (last V-st made will be in 3rd dc of the 11 dc at end of strip). Miss next 2 sts. 7 dc in next st (center of 11 dc shell). Miss next 2 sts. V st in next st. Rep from * to * across ending with 3 dc in top of ch 3 of 1st rnd. With B, sl st to top of beg ch 3 to join.

3rd rnd: Ch 3. 3 dc in same sp as last ss. Miss next st. V-st in next st. Miss next 3 sts. 1 shell in ch-1 sp of next V-st. *Miss next 3 sts.V- st in next st (center of shell). Miss next 3 sts. 1 shell in ch-1 sp of next V-st.* Rep from * to *across ending with miss next 2 sts. V st in next st. Miss next st. 7 dc in next st (center st of 7 dc shell). Miss next st. V-st in next st. Miss next 3 sts. 1 shell in ch-1 sp of next V-st. Rep from * to * across ending with miss next 2 sts. V-st in next st. Miss next st. 3 dc in same sp as first sl st. Sl st to top of beg ch 3. Fasten off. Sew strips tog leaving pointed ends free as shown.


Fringe:

Cut 12 inch [30.5 cm] lengths of B. Taking 10 strands tog, knot into fringe at points at each end. Trim fringe evenly.
