How Do I Crochet: Left Handed

Are you a southpaw struggling to learn how to crochet? If so, stop wondering "how do I crochet left handed?" and follow this tutorial! It will teach you how to hold the hook and yarn with your left hand, along with how to do a chain stitch and single crochet.

 

  1. How to hold the hook.


     
  2. How to hold the yarn.


     
  3. How to begin. Form a loop. Insert the hook through the loop.


     
  4. Yarn over the hook.


     
  5. Pull the yarn through. One chain stitch formed.


     
  6. Photo shows a sequence of chain stitch.


HOW TO SINGLE CROCHET:

  1. Begin the first row by inserting the hook into the 2nd chain stitch from the hook.


     
  2. Yarn over.


     
  3. Pull the yarn through the chain stitch.


     
  4. Pick up the yarn again. Pull it through both loops on the hook. One single crochet stitch formed.


     
  5. Insert the hook through the next chain stitch, repeat steps 2, 3, and 4. Photo shows a row of single crochet stitches formed.
